AMBRUOSI'S INTRODUCTION TO DRAG RACING

Robert Ambruosi has had a love for drag racing from a very young age, it all began by watching Wide World of Sports on Sunday mornings. Ambruosi Idolised iconic drivers such as Don Prudhomme and John Force, from age of just five years old Ambruosi knew he wanted to one day be a race car driver himself.

 

Involved in drag racing for over 30 years, Ambruosi’s list of street cars from a Ford Customline to a XA GT Coupe was never enough for him as his dream was to own and race a Pro Alcohol Funny Car in a professional group one category.

After crewing for race teams in both Australia and the United States for many years, Ambruosi then began his own racing journey shortly after buying a funny car previously owned by John Zappia and began his own operation within the early 2000’s.

LIFE OUTSIDE THE RACE TRACK

 

When Ambruosi is not spending his time in a race suit he is busy running his own business based in Melbourne.

Robert runs an owns an engine building and metal fabrication business located in Campbellfield, specialising in standard to high performance engines for both the street and strip. Also focusing on a wide range of fabrication related jobs from scaffolding to car related projects and modifications such as complete in-house chassis work, mini and custom wheel tub jobs and more.
